The increase of areas dedicated to cultivation is increasing generating loss of natural habitats Agricultura! intensification further leads to homogenization and simplification of the landscape. These factors promote the loss of biodiversity. This work analyzes the variation in abundance, composition and taxonomic and functional diversity of the wintering birds community in the olive groves between November 2016 and February 2017. This variation is explored as a function of the landscape complexity, estimated by the land cover use, the olive grove management, plantation frame and farmland size. We conclude that heterogeneous landscapes, with unproductive areas in the crop, the presence of herbaceous cover and a respectful management (greening) of the olive grove are key factors favouring the diversity and abundance of birds in olives orchards in winter. Each factor has a particular influence on specifics functional groups.
