[ES] A pesar de la escasez de estudios sobre el tema, en el presente trabajo se trata de averiguar si el carácter familiar de las empresas familiares españolas influye a la hora de su internacionalización. Para ello, primero se ha estudiado con detenimiento ambos conceptos: la empresa familiar española por un lado, y la internacionalización por otro, para al final concretar basándome en los estudios ya realizados, de qué manera influye la familiaridad de la empresa de cara a su internacionalización. Tras ello, se procederá al estudio de una empresa familiar española internacionalizada, para comprobar de manera más práctica cómo ha influido su carácter familiar para llevar a cabo la
internacionalización. De todo lo anterior se obtendrán una serie de conclusiones que
intentarán dar respuesta a la pregunta planteada en el título.
[EN] In spite of the lack of research of the subject, the aim of this work is to find out if the distinctive characteristics of the Spanish family business affect when implementing an international project. First, both concepts have been studied: on one side the Spanish family business and on the other side, the internationalization. On the basis of available research, the combination of family business and internationalization will be studied, and more specifically the impact of the family character on the internationalization of this kind of business. After that, a Spanish family business will be studied, in order to provide real evidence of how does the family character influence the internationalization projects of family business. In the light of all this, some conclusions will be given, which will try to give an answer to the question of the title of this work.
