amenazantes/moderadamente desagradables, respectivamente.
[EN] This study is part of an experimental series that aims to examine the dog modulatory effect on emotional reactivity and sense of safety towards threatening urban scenes in individuals with fear of crime. As a first step, we intended to create and validate a battery of images of threatening and safe public spaces that provoke aversive reactivity in this population. A total of 196 participants assessed these scenes along with images from the IAPS in valence, arousal, dominance, and a threatening/safe scale. The fear of crime was assessed with the Fear of Crime Scale. The safe and threatening scenes were assessed as safe/moderately pleasant and threatening/moderately unpleasant, respectively. The fear of crime only impacted the threatening scenes assessment. We conclude that our scenes are valid and reliable, and they can be used to portray people alone and accompanied by a dog to study the dog modulatory effect in threatening scenes.
