Pintura femenina en Jaén en los albores del siglo XX. Mujeres, provincias y silencio

Abstract

(ES) Desde el último tercio del siglo XX existe un intenso trabajo que persigue corregir la Historia del Arte: una historia que parece escrita para la vanalgloria de unos y la desaparición de otras. Este interés hacia la mujer creadora parece tener su punto de partida en la publicación de 1971 del artículo de Linda Nochlin en el que se pregunta Why have there been no great women artists?, desencadenando con ello una gran reacción que iniciaría toda las posteriores investigaciones llevadas a cavo sobre arte y género. En la actualidad hay una infinidad de líneas de investigación abiertas sobre ello, pero existe aún mucho camino por andar. Entre el trabajo pendiente están las artistas de provincias este y estudio pretende encontrar y conocer la evolución artística que realizaron las mujeres de Jaén desde los últimos años del siglo XIX hasta mediados del siglo XX

(EN) Since the last third of the 20th century, intense work has been carried out that seeks to correct the History of Art: a history that seems written for the pride of some and the disappearance of others. This interest in creative women seems to have its starting point in the publication in 1971 of the article by Linda Nochlin in which she asks why there have been no great women artists?, thus triggesring a great reaction tha would start all the investigations subsquent made, about art and gender. There are currently innumerable lines of research open in this regard, but there is still a long way to go. Among the pending works are the artists of the eastern provinces and the study aims to find and learn about the artistic evolution carried out by the women of Jaén form the last years of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century.
