Craneometría de Capra pyrenaica en el P.N. de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas.

Abstract

[ES] En el siguiente trabajo se estudia la craneometría de la cabra montés en el P.N. de las Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas, situado en el sureste de España. Se han obtenido las dimensiones de hasta 30 variables biométricas del cráneo, los cuernos y las mandíbulas de 235 ejemplares de cabra montés (Capra pyrenaica). Los objetivos de este trabajo consistieron en (i) analizar el crecimiento alométrico del cráneo de esta especie, así́como determinar la edad en la que cada sexo alcanza el valor asintótico para cada variable analizada, (ii) determinar el nivel de dimorfismo sexual para cada variable analizada y (iii) determinar las relaciones entre las variables. Los resultados muestran varias relaciones entre las variables biométricas indicando también diferencias significativas en la mayoría de las variables de estudio entre ambos sexos, así como el temprano alcance del valor asintótico en el crecimiento de dichas medidas de las hembras en relación a los machos.

[EN] In the following work, the craniometry of the mountain goat in the P.N. of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas, located in the southeast of Spain. They have obtained the dimensions of up to 30 biometric variables of the skull, horns and the jaws of 235 specimens of ibex (Capra pyrenaica). The objectives of this work consisted of (i) analyzing the allometric growth of the skull of this species, as well as determining the age at which each sex reaches the asymptotic value for each variable analyzed, (ii) determine the level of sexual dimorphism for each analyzed variable and (iii) determine the relationships between the variables. The results show several relationships between the biometric variables, also indicating significant differences in most of the study variables between both sexes, as well as the early reach of the asymptotic value in the growth of these measures of females in relation to males.
