Venus y Adonis de William Shakespeare es un poema narrativo erótico en el que Venus busca desesperadamente ser correspondida por el hermoso joven Adonis. En este estudio presentaremos el papel de los dos personajes y los analizaremos en detalle. Esto también es posible mediante el conocimiento de las bases del poeta inglés (de su estudio sobre el Mundo Clásico), además de, por supuesto, comparar el mito ovidiano con el presente poema, así como destacar sus semejanzas y diferencias. También, por otra parte, se prestará atención a las innovaciones introducidas por Shakespeare en su recreación del mito.
Shakespeare’s Venus and Adonis is an erotic narrative poem in which Venus desperately try to be loved by the beautiful young Adonis. In this study we will present the role of the two characters and analyse them in detail. This is also possible through the knowledge of the bases of the English poet (of his study of the Classical World), in addition to, of course, comparing the Ovidian myth with the present poem, as well as highlighting their similarities and differences. Also, on the other hand, we will pay attention to the innovations introduced by Shakespeare in his recreation of the myth.
