La tradición clásica en el teatro de Shakespeare

Abstract

En el presente proyecto, la tradición clásica en el mundo de Shakespeare va a ser el punto de partida para desarrollar cada uno de los temas expuestos en el índice. Se empezará en primer lugar por la literatura griega, sus orígenes y se tratarán algunos términos. Además, también se informará sobre movimientos culturales y autores europeos contemporáneos a Shakespeare que fueron influyentes tanto para el autor inglés como para su época: el Renacimiento. Además, habrá un punto en el que se detalle y compare el teatro isabelino y el teatro griego más a fondo. En segundo lugar, se conseguirá acercar la figura de William Shakespeare al lector proporcionándole información acerca de su biografía, contexto histórico y su gusto por lo clásico. Se analizarán algunos recursos utilizados por el autor como otros elementos fundamentales en la elaboración de sus obras; actos, temática, escenarios de las obras o anacronismos, esto último muy relevante ya que se debe matizar que era un dramaturgo, no un historiador. Como mayor premisa, se expondrán ejemplos de obras de este relevante autor donde se verá con claridad la influencia clásica en sus trabajos y la Europa del Renacimiento. Para ultimar la memoria, se cerrará este proyecto de fin de grado con una conclusión final elaborada a partir del estudio de las páginas que aquí se ofrecen.

In this project, the classical tradition in the world of Shakespeare is going to be the starting point to develop each one of the themes exposed in the index. It will begin first with Greek literature, its origins and some terms will be discussed. In addition, it will also inform about cultural movements and European authors from the time of Shakespeare, that were influential both for the English author and for his time: the Renaissance. In addition, there will be a point where Elizabethan theater and Greek theater are detailed and compared more thoroughly. Second, the figure of William Shakespeare will be brought closer to the reader by providing information about his biography, historical context and his love for the classical. Some resources used by the author as other fundamental elements in the elaboration of his works will be analyzed; acts, themes, scenes of the plays or anachronisms, the last of them is very relevant because it must be clarified that he was a playwrighter, not a historian. As a major premise, examples of works by this relevant author will be exhibited, where the classical influence on his works and Renaissance Europe will be clearly seen. To finalize, this final degree project will closed with a final conclusion drawn from the study of the pages offered here.
