Resumen
[ES] El propósito principal de este trabajo es estudiar la precariedad laboral en el sector turístico de España, ya que podría considerarse como uno de los sectores con más peso en la economía española. Así, indagaremos en los orígenes de dicha precariedad y las repercusiones que ha conllevado, tanto en el marco laboral como en el de la salud de los trabajadores.
Por otro lado, estudiaremos las mejoras que se pueden llevar a cabo para disminuir la precariedad laboral en el turismo y destacar el papel fundamental que desempeña el género femenino en este sector. Además, nos centraremos en el caso de las camareras de piso, empleando para ello datos oficiales de los convenios colectivos de ésta categoría profesional. Y expondremos la situación y reivindicaciones de las comúnmente denominadas “Las Kellys”.

[EN] The main aim of this essay is considering the lack of job stability in the touristic area, as it could be considered as one of the sector with the most significant weight for the Spanish economy. Therefore, we will analyze the origins of this lack of stability and the consequences that it has entailed, within the framework of the job and health of this sector’s workers. Furthermore, we will study the improvements that could be accomplished in order to decrease the lack of job stability and stand out the fact that the female genre performance is essential in this sector. Moreover, we will focus on the case of maid service, using official data from the collective agreement of this profession. We will expose the situation and claims of the commonly called “Kellys”.
