This essay aims to present a Social Work perspective that is open to various viewpoints. To achieve this, we address the historicity of Social Work, not as a chronology but as a presentation of the spaces where the discipline has been constructed and produced. Subsequently, from a critical perspective, we explore the literature of critical Social Work as a way of presenting approaches and perspectives to address the tensions within which we fluctuate. Finally, we propose a contextualization that expresses the contingencies and conditions embedded in the discipline and the possibilities of relating to these other perspectives. This exercise involved a documentary analysis that allowed for a theoretical-conceptual reflection based on critical Social Work: Anti-oppressive Social Work and Anarchist Social Action. Through this, we have been able to engage with the foundations and principles that underpin these visions, establishing connections with the Social Work we know
