During the Covid-19 pandemic, geriatric centers were particularly affected due to the conditions of the facilities and the vulnerability of their population. Due to their advanced age and the their medical history, Covid-19 outbreaks extend in their facilities, resulting in a high number of infections and deaths. The measures taken to stop these outbreaks had important consequences for the residents, which is why this population group was prioritized during vaccination. Studying the causes of infections, the consequences of the adopted containment measures, and the lack of resources will contribute to the need for creating a new model of multidisciplinary care residences with the necessary human and material resources to provide optimal care.
