Mitos y Leyendas en el Antiguo Egipto

Abstract

Este trabajo consiste en un estudio de manera detallada del surgimiento de los mitos y leyendas del antiguo Egipto, desde el Período Predinástico (4000 a.C.), hasta el final del Paganismo bajo el reinado de Justiniano (500 d. C.). A partir de la exposición de las áreas geográficas y cronológicas donde surgen los mitos y las divinidades a las que se veneran, se analizarán las diferentes religiones que han contribuido a la creación de un discurso mítico. Estas religiones se han mostrado junto a la religión egipcia, exponiendo las similitudes y diferencias que hay entre ellas. Analizando las diferentes cosmogonías y cómo éstas elaboran sus propios mitos a partir de la concepción de la creación del universo, junto con los mitos más populares como son los de Osiris, Atum y Ra. Para finalizar hemos analizado la influencia egipcia sobre otras religiones occidentales posteriores.

The present essay consisted on a detailed presentation about the emergence of the myths and legends in ancient Egypt, from the Predynastic Period (end of the 4th millennium) to the end of the pagan world under the reign of Justinian (early 5th century AD). There is a comparison with different religions, which contributed to the creation of a mythic discourse. These religions together with the Egyptian have been exposed with their similarities and differences. There is also a study of the different cosmogonies and how they present their myths derived from them. There is also a presentation of the most popular myths as Osiris, Atum and Ra. Finally we have analyzed the influence of Egyptian religion over other later western cultures.
