TABLETS AS A MOTIVATIONAL TOOL TO IMPROVE THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS IN TEENAGERS

Abstract

[ES]La finalidad de este estudio teórico es detallar la efectividad del uso de las tablets como una herramienta motivacional para los alumnos que estudian inglés como segundo idioma o como lengua extranjera en la etapa de la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria en España. Diferentes estudios realizados muestran que la motivación tiene un gran impacto en el proceso de aprendizaje del inglés. Por lo tanto, este proyecto presenta, además, un programa basado en tareas digitales a través de la Tablet cuyo objetivo es aumentar la motivación en los alumnos para mejorar sus habilidades lingüísticas.

[EN]The main goal of the theoretical study presented in this paper is to shed light on the effectiveness of Tablet Pcs as motivational tools for teenagers in the field of ESL/EFL in Compulsory Secondary Education in Spain. Different research shows that motivation does have a great impact on our students’ English performance. Therefore, this project also presents a sample intervention programme based on tablet digital tasks whose aim is to raise our students’ motivation to improve their language skills.
