Resumen
Este trabajo final de máster se centró en analizar la relación entre el envejecimiento activo y las ciudades
amigables, explorando su importancia en el contexto del envejecimiento de la población. Se llevó a cabo una
revisión sistemática de la literatura, y se destacó la relevancia de las ciudades amigables como entornos que
promueven la participación activa de las personas mayores, así como su bienestar físico y emocional.
A través de una metodología rigurosa,se seleccionaron estudios empíricos publicados entre 2019 y 2023, que
incluían a adultos mayores de 65 años. Se enfatizó la necesidad de promover ciudades amigables adaptadas
a las necesidades y preferencias de las personas mayores, fomentando su participación y bienestar. También
se tuvo en cuenta la perspectiva de género. Este trabajo ofrece valiosas recomendaciones para futuras
investigaciones y políticas destinadas a crear entornos urbanos más inclusivos y propicios para el
envejecimiento activo.
This master's thesis focused on analyzing the relationship between active aging and age-friendly cities, exploring their importance in the context of population aging. A systematic literature review was conducted, highlighting the relevance of age-friendly cities as environments that promote active participation and enhance the physical and emotional well-being of older adults. Through a rigorous methodology, empirical studies published between 2019 and 2023 were selected, including adults aged 65 years and above. The need to promote age-friendly cities tailored to the needs and preferences of older adults, fostering their participation and well-being, was emphasized. The gender perspective was also taken into account. This work provides valuable recommendations for future research and policies aimed at creating more inclusive and supportive urban environments for active aging.
