Resumen
[ES] La inteligencia emocional actúa como un factor protector frente a estresores laborales y es un promotor en los procesos de bienestar en el trabajo. El objetivo general fue conocer el papel de la inteligencia emocional en el bienestar laboral de los trabajadores. Se realizó un estudio correlacional con una medición transversal en una muestra de 239 trabajadores a los que se les aplicó un cuestionario online. Los análisis de regresión jerárquica mostraron que la inteligencia emocional moderó la relación entre el incivismo laboral y el bienestar psicosocial, y tuvo un efecto directo en el bienestar psicosocial. El incivismo laboral del jefe tuvo un efecto directo tanto en el bienestar psicosocial como en la somatización. La inteligencia emocional es un recurso personal positivo que puede ayudar a los trabajadores a afrontar situaciones de incivismo en el trabajo. Las implicaciones prácticas de este estudio van dirigidas a intervenir en las organizaciones.
[EN] Emotional intelligence acts as a protective factor against job stressors and as a promoter of well-being processes at work. The objective was to know the role of emotional intelligence on employees ́ wellbeing. This research was a cross-sectional study carried out in a sample of 239 workers (56.45% women and 43.53%), who completed an online questionnaire. Hierarchical regression analyses showed that emotional intelligence moderated the relationships between workplace incivility and psychosocial well-being, as well as it had a main effect on psychosocial well-being. Supervisor and colleagues ́ workplace incivility had direct effects on both psychosocial well-being and somatization. Emotional intelligence is a personal positive resource that can help employees to deal with situations of workplace incivility. Practical implications drive organizations interventions.
