Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world. Its development has been linked to various cell signalling pathways such as Wnt. In addition, it has been suggested that some of the cell's own components, such as cholesterol, may promote carcinogenesis. Due to the lack of scientific evidence relating the involvement of cholesterol on the Wnt signalling pathway and its role in the development of cancer, the aim of this work was to find out the level of scientific evidence existing on the relationship between cholesterol, Wnt and cancer. The findings found in different studies are described throughout the paper. The conclusion is that the pathways of Wnt, specifically canonical, cholesterol, and cancer seem to be highly interrelated by different mechanisms.
