Burnout.
[EN]Burnout Syndrome is defined as a psychological syndrome of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and a reduced personal performance, which negatively affects both the physical and mental health of nursing professionals (Maslach, 1993). The development of Emotional Intelligence (EI) programmes in this field has shown that it favours the emotional balance of these professionals. The objective of this dissertation is to propose an intervention programme based on the Mayer and Salovey EI model (1997) for nurses. Its aim is to develop and train their perception, facilitation, understanding and emotional regulation skills, in order to improve and/or buffer the negative effects of Burnout Syndrome which will improve their quality of life. A quasi-experimental study will be carried out with a sample of 80 nurses from a hospital in Jaén. Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Nursing Professional, Burnout Syndrome
