Resumen
Este trabajo tiene como objetivo la búsqueda de una serie de conocimientos básicos (Daño Cerebral Adquirido, alteraciones cognitivas, orientación educativa, estrategias y técnicas educativas para su mejora, etc) elementos básicos para la realización de la actividad docente. Las funciones cognitivas son las responsables de los procesos mentales necesarios para la vida diaria, cuando existe un daño en estas funciones, se produce un deterioro significativo en la persona, por eso es importante mantenerlas lo más ágiles y activas posible. El objetivo principal del que instruye es encontrar las estrategias y técnicas que propicien y mejoren el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje. Si conocemos a fondo el papel que juegan las funciones cognitivas, podremos ser capaces de poner en práctica todas nuestras destrezas que activen la atención y por consiguiente, que nos permitan ayudar a los alumnos a desarrollar una serie de competencias y estrategias para su mejora en el rendimiento académico.

Cognitive functions are responsible for the mental processes necessary for daily life, when there is so damage in these functions, there is a significant deterioration in the person, so it is important to keep them as agile and active as possible. The main objetive of the teacher, is to find the strategies and techniques that propitiate and improve the teaching learning process. If we know the role of cognitive functions in depth, we can be able to put into practice all our attention-activating skills and therefore, to enable us to help students develop a series of competencies and strategies for their improvement in academic performance.
