REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA DEL EDADISMO CON RELACIÓN A LA SALUD Y AL ENVEJECIMIENTO DESDE EL TRABAJO SOCIAL

Abstract

España se está convirtiendo con el paso de los años en un país envejecido. Esto convierte a la salud y el envejecimiento en hechos importantes para la creación de políticas públicas. Ambos fenómenos se enfrentan a un problema invisibilizado, el edadismo. La discriminación por edad afecta a todas las esferas de la vida, sobre todo al nivel de la salud y económico, lo que hace que se necesite conocimiento sobre: qué es, cómo se presenta, las consecuencias que tiene sobre la salud y el envejecimiento, además de los recursos y mecanismos para eliminar este problema. Se abordarán estas cuestiones mediante una revisión bibliográfica desde la perspectiva Trabajo Social como instrumento facilitador de la transformación social desde algunas de sus especialidades

Over the years, Spain is becoming an ageing country. This makes hearts and aging two important facts for the creation of public policies. Both fenomena will confront an invisible social problem, the ageism. Ageism concerns all aspects of life; especially at the health and economic levels,which means that knowledge is needed on: what it is, how it appear, its consequences on people’s health and the aging process; besides the resources and procedures to solve them. These issues will be addressed through a literature review from the perspective of Social Work as a social transformation’s resource from some specialties of Social Work
