Abstract

[ES] El género Plectus Bastian, 1865 es uno de los más ricos y abundantes en el filo de nematodos de vida libre. Es un género ampliamente distribuido y del cual numerosos autores han ido haciendo cambios a lo largo de su historia. Sus especies se encuentran en cualquier tipo de hábitats y por falta de machos en la mayoría de los casos se reproducen de forma partenogenética. Actualmente, se incluyen unas 78 especies dentro del mismo, y en la presente revisión se pretende confirmar la validez de las mismas, así como su distribución y hábitats, examinando cada una de las descripciones realizadas a lo largo del tiempo y verificando que todas ellas coinciden tanto en las características morfológicas como morfométricas, basándonos para ello en su descripción original.

[EN] The genus Plectus Bastian, 1865 is one of the richest and most abundant in the phylum of free-living nematodes. It is a widely distributed genre and of which numerous authors have been making changes throughout its history. Its species are found in any type of habitat and due to the lack of males in most cases they reproduce in a parthenogenetic way. Currently some 78 species are included within it, and in this review we intend to confirm their validity, as well as their distribution and habitats, examining each of the descriptions made over time and verifying that all of them coincide both. in morphological and morphometric characteristics, based on its original description.
