Resumen
Debido al aumento considerable de los problemas emocionales que se ha producido en los últimos años, en el presente trabajo se va a explicar qué es la depresión analizando sus principales síntomas, en concreto los que se dan en los niños/as y las principales teorías explicativas existentes. Además, se indagará en los diferentes factores protectores y de riesgo que todos los niños/as poseen así como en su elevada prevalencia tanto en la población infantil como juvenil. Posteriormente, se analizarán los principales programas preventivos existentes viendo los principales resultados encontrados, así como la eficacia tras su aplicación en la población. También, se valorará la importancia de la participación de la familia durante todo el proceso y se proporcionará algunos consejos útiles destinados a los padres. Por último, se hará referencia, de manera concreta, a aquellos aspectos que se recomiendan trabajar en la prevención y que son los que habitualmente están incluidos en los programas de prevención existentes.
Due to the considerable increase in emotional problems that has happened in recent years, in this project it will be explained what depression is through the analysis of its main symptoms (particularly those that are related to children) and the main explanatory theories. The main protective and risk factors for children and teenagers were also investigated as well as its high prevalence. Subsequently, the main prevention programs will be analyzed (taking into account their results and effectiveness) after their application in the population. The importance of family involvement is also valued for the process in order to provide some useful tips to parents. Finally, some aspects will be studied to work on prevention such as assertiveness, positive emotions, social skills and emotional intelligence.
