La Atención Social del Síndrome de Down en la actualidad. Una perspectiva evolutiva analizada a través de un estudio de caso único.

Resumen
El presente artículo, enmarcado en un Trabajo Fin de Grado de la Facultad de Trabajo Social de la Universidad de Jaén, se centra en investigar la discapacidad intelectual del Síndrome de Down, desde una perspectiva evolutiva y actual de la atención y demanda de aquellos aspectos necesarios que requiere este colectivo para su pleno desarrollo en la sociedad. Tras una exhaustiva revisión bibliográfica de la literatura existente, sobre los paradigmas de percepción de la discapacidad y sobre la atención, servicios y recursos que precisan las personas con Síndrome de Down, se ha continuado con una investigación empírica. La metodología que se ha seleccionado ha sido cualitativa, utilizando el método de Estudio de Caso Único y empleando la técnica de investigación de la entrevista abierta en profundidad. Los resultados se han presentado a través de la historia de vida del caso seleccionado, y estos se han analizado realizando un diagnóstico social.
