The Use of ICTs in the First Course of Compulsory Secondary Education and its impact on English Language and Learning

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de este estudio es analizar el impacto de las nuevas tecnologías (internet, la pizarra interactiva y el libro digital) en la clase de inglés. El estudio se ha realizado en el Instituto de Educación Secundaria “Virgen de Altagracia” en la provincia de Badajoz. Dicho estudio pretende demostrar que el uso de las nuevas tecnologías en el aula fomenta la participación del alumnado así como el aprendizaje autónomo, la motivación y el interés del alumnado. Para realizar dicho el estudio, se han tenido en cuenta las opiniones del alumnado así como las del profesorado. Los datos se han recogido a través de diferentes cuestionarios y de un diario de clase.

[EN] The purpose of this MA dissertation is to examine the impact of ICTs on the English classroom. Particularly, the use of digital books, interactive boards and the Internet. It has been carried out in a high school in Siruela, Badajoz. Such MA dissertation aims to show how the use of ICTs in the classroom is related to factors like students’ participation, autonomous learning, motivation and interest. Similarly, the results have been obtained through different questionnaires and a dairy which take into consideration teachers and students’ opinions.
