(ES) El diseño español tuvo un gran auge e importancia a partir de 1931. La creación del Grupo
GATEPAC, trajo consigo un importante movimiento de modernización del diseño español que
mantuvo su influencia en nuestro país hasta la proclamación del Franquismo. Muchos de los
integrantes siguieron trabajando en el exilio haciendo que no se perdiese su importancia. Gracias a
la influencia americana e italiana en nuestros artistas, a partir de los años cincuenta se volvió a
optar por un diseño moderno y funcional que se perdió en los años anteriores.
(EN) Spanish design had a great boom and importance from 1931 onwards. The creation of the GATEPAC Group brought with it an important movement for the modernisation of Spanish Design that maintained its influence in our country until the proclamation of Francoism. Many of its members continued to work in exile, ensuring that its importance was not lost. Thanks to the American and Italian influence on our artists, from the fifties onwards, a modern and functional design that had been lost in previous years was once again chosen.
