EL CONCEPTO ESTÉTICO DE LA BELLEZA EN EUROPA Y CHINA DURANTE EL MEDIEVO. MANIFESTACIONES ARTÍSTICAS EN LAS FIGURAS FEMENINAS EN EL ÁMBITO RELIGIOSO.

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta una mirada comparativa entre los tres filósofos que influyeron en la estética de la belleza en la Edad Media. Las filosofías sobre las ideas estéticas que se discuten en este trabajo son de San Agustín, Santo Tomás de Aquino, y Confucio. Confucio, sin embargo no fue contemporáneo, pero sus teorías fueron las que influyeron en las religiones de aquel momento. En primer lugar, hablaremos sobre el contexto histórico medieval para entender la importancia y la influencia de la religión. En segundo lugar, analizaremos las ideas de los filósofos y sus influencias, en el concepto de religión, sobre la belleza. Compararemos la teoría de Confucio con la de los filósofos occidentales. Finalmente, en este trabajo mencionaremos las representaciones de la Virgen María y Guanyin CWXl ir) en su propio contexto durante la época medieval para entender si las ideas estéticas de los filósofos se consiguieron transferir a las manifestaciones artísticas de dicha época.

This paper presents a comparative look between philosophical principies of three chosen philosophers whom influenced the aesthetic about beauty in the Middle Ages. The philosophies about aesthetic ideas that were discussed in this paper are from Saint Thomas Aquinas, Saint Augustine and Confucius. Confucius, though not contemporary, but his theories were those that influenced the religions at the moment. Firstly, we looked at the summary of the medieval historical context to understand the importance and the influence of religion at the moment. Secondly, we discuss about the philosophers' ideas and their influences to the religion's concept about beauty. Then we compare Confucius's theory to the western philosophers. Finally, we will marginally discuss the depictions of the Virgin Mary and Guanyin in their own context during the medieval period to understand if the aesthetic ideas from the philosophers whether it did gotten transferred in the artistic manifestation during that era.
