SINESTESIA

Abstract

En el presente estudio se llevará a cabo una revisión teórica sobre la Sinestesia, un fenómeno estudiado desde hace más de 200 años hasta la actualidad. El periodo seleccionado para su posterior revisión han sido los últimos 20 años. Se indagará en su definición, los acontecimientos ocurridos a lo largo de su historia, los distintos tipos de sinestesia descubiertas hasta la fecha, su prevalencia en la población, cómo la genética ha influenciado sobre éste fenómeno, la aparición de modelos que postulaban y defendían hipótesis a lo largo de su historia. Por otra parte, se revisará su diagnóstico y como se miden estas experiencias, así como el impacto provocado en la neurociencia. Con el objetivo final de poder conocer y comprender cómo perciben el mundo con los sentidos.

In the present study a theoretical review will be carried out on synesthesia, a phenomenon studied for more than 200 years until the present time. The period selected for further review has been the last 20 years. It has been investigated in its definition, the events that occurred throughout its history, the different types of synaesthesia discovered to date, their prevalence in the population, how genetics has influenced the phenomenon, the appearance of models that postulated and defend the hypothesis a length of its history. On the other hand, to review its diagnosis and how these experiences are measured, as well as the impact provoked in neuroscience. With the ultimate goal of being able to know and understand how they perceive the world with the senses.
