Fotografía de guerra en el siglo XIX

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo comprende, en un primer bloque, un recorrido desde el inicio mismo de la fotografía y su evolución a lo largo de los primeros veinticinco años de vida, desde la invención de Niepce hasta la creación del colodión húmedo. El siguiente bloque presenta un recorrido desde las primeras polémicas sobre la paternidad de la fotografía de guerra, pasando por las guerras propagandísticas de Crimea y Asia, y la contienda fratricida de la guerra de secesión, como mayor exponente de la guerra en este siglo. El último bloque presenta a tres fotógrafos españoles destacados en el panorama nacional del siglo XIX, estos son: Enrique Facio como reportero de guerra pionero en España, Sabina Muchart como la primera mujer fotógrafa dentro de una guerra en el mundo, y José Gómez de la Carrera como el mayor exponente de las fotografías captadas en el desastre del 98.

This Project is composed of three essential parts. To begin, it will be mentioned the photography history from its beginning through the 25 years of evolution. From Niepce discovery until the wet collodion creation. The second part is about the first controversies about the paternity of the War Photography. From the Crimean propagandistic war against Asia; as well as the American Civil War which was the most important conflict of the century. In order to complete this project, there will be introduced three notable spanish photographer of the XIX century. They are, Enrique Facio as a pioneer war journalist in Spain, Sabina Muchart as the first female photographer in a world war and José Gómez de la Carrera as the biggest/most important exponent of the photographers who captured the disaster of the 1898.
