Abstract

Este trabajo de fin de máster, "A case study of the perspective of students and teachers on the use of authentic materials in the teaching process" ,se ha llevado a cabo en un intento de ofrecer un análisis de la necesidad y el uso de los materiales auténticos en el proceso de enseñanza de idiomas y, en particular, del Inglés.

El proyecto tiene como objetivo principal presentar la perspectiva de un grupo de estudiantes acerca de la utilización de los materiales auténticos.También intenta analizar las diferencias entre las opiniones de alumnos pertenecientes a distintos niveles.En este sentido, se hace una comparación entre un nivel avanzado y otro pre-intermedio. Finalmente, se intenta examinar la perspectiva de un grupo de profesores en relación con este aspecto para así obtener conclusiones que puedan mejorar nuestra visión de los materiales auténticos y de la función pedagógica que pueden tener.

The present master's dissertation, "A case study of the perspective of students and teachers on the use of authentic materials in the teaching process", has been conducted in an attempt to provide an analysis of the necessity and use of authentic materials in the language teaching process, particularly English.

This project's main aim is to focus on the self-declared perspective of a group of learners towards the use of authentic materials. lt also intends to measure the dissimilarities between the opinions of different-level students, making a comparison between an advanced level and a pre-intermediate level and finally gauge the perception of the teachers regarding this aspect so asto reach conclusions that can better our understanding of this type of input and encounter practica! pedagogical implications.
