The olive oil industry is important within the industrial fabric of the province due to the large number of small and medium-sized companies that make it up. For the sector to develop in a sustainable way, it is necessary to control the potential damage to the environment, as waste is produced during production. From this we can deduce the importance of developing applications that allow them to be revalued. This Final Degree Project (TFG) proposes the manufacture of gypsum-based materials that incorporate olive pits in different percentages for use in construction. The use of these materials is intended to improve their insulating properties, which can make a fundamental contribution to energy saving. The most suitable proportions that do not reduce the mechanical properties of the material and, on the other hand, increase its insulating capacity will be studied.
