Principales aportaciones del uso de modelos animales a la psicopatología humana; Orígenes, desarrollo de modelos más relevantes e implicaciones en la actualidad.

Abstract

En psicología se ha comprobado la eficacia del estudio con modelos animales para la comprensión del comportamiento humano. Este tipo de estudios tiene su origen en la teoría de la continuidad de las especies de Darwin. Tanto esta noción de Darwin como las investigaciones de Pavlov, Wolpe y Seligman, no solo han originado una base para el entendimiento del comportamiento humano normal y ‘’anormal’’, sino también para el entendimiento de diferentes psicopatologías, en cuanto a sus posibles causas, factores que influyen en su mantenimiento y posibles tratamientos, así como la presencia e implicación de los mismos fenómenos, hasta en la más simple interacción entre un organismo y su ambiente. Esta revisión pretende enfatizar la importancia de los modelos animales del comportamiento humano para la comprensión del comportamiento humano.Psychology has shown the usefulness of studying animal models for the understanding of human behaviour. This kind of studies has its origin in Darwin's theory of the continuity of species. This notion of Darwin along with investigations of Pavlov, Wolpe, and Seligman, not only have created a basis for the understanding of normal and "abnormal" human behaviour, but also for the understanding of various psychopathologies, in terms of its possible causes, factors that influence their maintenance and possible treatments, as well as the presence and involvement of these phenomena , even in the simplest interactions between an organism and its environment. This review aims to emphasise the importance of animal models of human behaviour for the understanding of human behaviour.
