In this context, exports have become an important tool for the development of many of these countries that, by specializing themselves in the goods and services in which they have certain comparative advantage, have found a possible way to enhance their living standards. This paper explores these realities through a representative market: the export of organic bananas from the Dominican Republic, and its key role in the socioeconomic development of the country, having a positive impact on the workforce, on the local communities and on the environment as a whole.
