Resumen
En la actualidad, la tecnología digital está presente en numerosos aspectos de nuestras
vidas, incluido el campo de la educación. Las Tecnologías de la Información y la
Comunicación están modificando el desarrollo del proceso de aprendizaje y enseñanza
en el aula. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo identificar y analizar el potencial de las TIC
en el aprendizaje del inglés. A través de este estudio descubriremos la gran cantidad de
ventajas que el uso de las nuevas tecnologías puede ofrecer en el campo del aprendizaje
y la enseñanza de idiomas extranjeros, así como los principales obstáculos que se
observan. También exploraremos cómo ha evolucionado el campo de la enseñanza
debido al uso de nuevas metodologías y nuevas herramientas tecnológicas, con el
objetivo de lograr un aumento en la motivación y un entorno de aprendizaje accesible
que beneficie a los estudiantes. Además, se ilustra la opinión de profesores y estudiantes
de inglés del instituto de enseñanza secundaria ͞Sierra Mágina͟ en Huelma (Jaén), en
relación con el uso de las TIC en la enseñanza del inglés como idioma extranjero.
Finalmente, este trabajo también proporciona una unidad didáctica para el curso de 3o
de ESO en el que se incluye el uso de las TIC.

Nowadays digital technology is present in numerous aspects of our lives, including the field of education. The Information and Communication Technologies are modifying the development of the learning and teaching process in the classroom. This MA dissertation aims to identify and analyse the potential of ICTs in English language learning. Through this study we will discover the great number of advantages that the use of new technologies can offer in the field of learning and teaching foreign languages, as well as the main obstacles that are observed. Also, we will explore how the field of teaching has evolved due to the use of new methodologies and new technological tools, with the goal of achieving an increase in motivation and an accessible learning environment that benefits learners. In addition, the opinion of English teachers and students, at Sierra Mágina high school in Huelma (Jaén), is illustrated in relation to the use of ICTs for teaching English as a foreign language. Finally, this dissertation also provides a Didactic Unit for the 3rd year of Compulsory Secondary Education, in which the use of ICTs is included.
