The objective of this project has been to analyze and evaluate the motor development in primary education students from Portugal to know the development of basic motor skills at these ages, to analyze and determine if there are differences in motor development regarding gender, to find out which aspects of motor skills they have more developed and where they make more mistakes. To do this, sixteen students of first and second cycle of primary education from a village of Ponte de Lima, district of Viana do Castelo (Portugal) were selected and their physical characteristics were measured. Motor development was evaluated in all pupils with the TGMD (Test of Gross Motor Development). On the one hand, the locomotion skills were evaluated, and on the other hand, the object control skills. During the evaluation we could see that students showed more difficulties in the implementation of object control skills. For this reason, it has been designing a didactic unit as a proposal to improve those skills where students have more mistakes, in order to improve and refine the engine implementation and development of the child.
