(increasing).

[EN]n this work, an update of the status of the mountain goat (Capra pyrenaica) in the Iberian Peninsula has been carried out through a bibliographic review. Towards the beginning of the century an abundance of ibex was estimated at some 50,000 specimens distributed in more than 60 cores. There are nuclei of which we do not have specific data to determine the tendency of the population, a general level, an increase of the effective ones is observed. In the Gredos mountain range, there has been an increase in population in intermediate stages of decline in recent decades, similar to what happened in the Sierra Nevada National Park, the Natural Park of the Sierras de Huétor and Sierra de Gádor. In the Pyrenees, the last specimen of bucardo disappeared in the year 2000. Since 2014 in the French Pyrenees a reintroduction program have been developing. In the Pyrenees National Park is estimated a population of around 160 individuals and in the Ariégeises Regional Pyrenees Natural Park, 95 specimens. In Portugal, despite of the extinction of C. p. Lusitanica, there is currently the presence of ibex (C. p. victoriae), specifically in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. This is because some individuals escaped from the enclosures in which they are in Invernadeiro and moved to Portugal, where they could recolonization. It is a population composed of approximately 576 specimens. Therefore, the status of the species is maintained: low risk (LC) and growing (increasing).
