Spain, with the increase in life expectancy and the reduction in the birth rate, is experiencing an increase in population aging, which generates an increase in the demand for care in residential centers. For this reason, institutions begin to implement new technological advances aimed at improving the quality of life and increasing the well-being of users. The objective of this research is: to study the technological advances that are implemented in residences, to facilitate basic activities and increase their quality of life. The method used is data collection through a questionnaire answered by ten residences in the province of Jaén. The results show a shortage of ICT implemented in the residences, in addition to offering a reduced technological training. In conclusion, both the training and the technological implementation of the centers is scarce, worsening this in the more rural and less populated territories.
