Evolución biológica y principales eventos geológicos durante el Mesozoico

Abstract

[ES] El Mesozoico, como con otras eras del Fanerozoico, es escenario de la evolución de los seres vivos. A lo largo del mismo ocurren varias crisis que afectan a la historia de la vida y al proceso evolutivo. El estudio de estas crisis ha llevado a los expertos a sospechar que pudieron ser causadas principalmente por eventos geológicos. Si esta idea es cierta, el papel de los cambios geológicos en la evolución de las especies podría ser más profundo de lo que en un primer lugar se habría imaginado. Para dilucidar la relación existente entre ambos, en este trabajo, se realiza una revisión de la bibliografía reciente en donde se abordan siete crisis ocurridas durante el Mesozoico, en las cuales se cree que un evento geológico pudo jugar un papel clave. Con esta labor se quiere comprobar si los eventos geológicos fueron responsables de estas crisis.

[EN] The Mesozoic, as other eras from the Fanerozoic, is part of the biological evolution scene. Throughout it numerous crisis occur which affect to the life history and evolution process. The study of these crisis has led to the experts to suspect that they could have been originated mainly by geological events. If this idea is true, it would mean that the role of the geology in the species evolution is deeper than it had been imagined. To elucidate the relationship between them, in this study is going to be carried out a bibliographic revision of recent studies about seven crises from the Mesozoic, in which it´s believed that a geological event is a key component. With this work is expected to confirm if geologicals events are the responsible of these crisis or whereas they´ve been caused by other reasons.
