Akhenatón y el periodo Amama

Abstract

El periodo Amama es uno de los periodos más interesantes y, posiblemente, uno de los más trabajados por parte de los estudiosos dentro de la historia del Antiguo Egipto. Sin lugar a dudas, los cambios de tipo religioso que se produjeron durante dicho periodo, afectaron en todos los niveles a las diferentes estructuras de la sociedad egipcia y modificaron los sistemas políticos, económicos y culturales del país. La figura de Akhenatón es conocida hoy en día por todo el mundo no sólo por ser el rey egipcio que llevó a cabo una considerable reforma religiosa, sino por ser la figura que trastocó y modificó a su antojo las bases de una civilización que hasta el momento se había caracterizado, entre otras cosas, por su inmovilismo y su permanencia en la tradición. Sin embargo, las aguas del río pronto volverían a su cauce, demostrando que para mantener una modificación del statu quo, deberían de haberse llevado a cabo el empleo de otros mecanismos adicionales que no se tuvieron en cuenta.

The Amama period is one of the most interesting periods and possibly one of the most studied by scholars within the history of the Ancient Egypt. Undoubtedly, the religious changes that took place during this period affected at ali levels the different structures of Egyptian society and modified the country's political, economic and cultural systems. The figure of Akhenaten is known nowadays by the whole world not only for being the Egyptian king who carried out a wide religious reformation, but for being the figure that disturbed and modified at his whim the bases of a civilization that until the moment had been characterized, among other things, by its immobility and its permanence in tradition. However, things would be soon back on track, showing that in order to maintain a change in the statu quo, other additional mechanisms should have been used that were not taken into account.
