Las nuevas conductas discriminatorias sutiles: el manspreading

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se estudia el manspreading como forma de discriminación sutil hacia la mujer. Así pues, se lleva a cabo una revisión bibliográfica sobre cómo se manifiesta y cuáles son las variables que entran a formar parte en la reproducción de esta conducta discriminatoria. Para ello, se abordan las diferentes teorías relacionadas con este concepto con la intención de comprobar si existe relación entre dichas teorías y la producción de dicha conducta. Se aborda el tema de la igualdad entre mujeres y hombres, enmarcando el manspreading como conducta que denota la carencia de igualdad, y que deja entrever uno de los micromachismos más habituales en la vida cotidiana. La pretensión fundamental es la concienciación de la sociedad y visibilización de la existencia de estas conductas que muestran un machismo sutil pero que generan el mismo estado de inferioridad en el género femenino que cualquier conducta machista más visible.This paper studies manspreading as a form of subtle discrimination against women. Thus, a literature review is carried out on how it manifests itself and which are the variables that play a part in the reproduction of this discriminatory behavior. To this end, the different theories related to this concept are approached with the intention of verifying whether there is a relationship between these theories and the production of such behavior. The issue of equality between women and men is addressed, framing manspreading as a behavior that denotes the lack of equality, and which reveals one of the most common micromachisms in everyday life. The main aim is to raise awareness in society and make visible the existence of these behaviors that show a subtle machismo but that generate the same state of inferiority in the female gender as any other more visible macho behavior.
