La caída de Ícaro: Estudio Iconográfico

Abstract

Este trabajo realiza un estudio iconográfico de la figura mitológica de Ícaro, centrándose en el momento de su caída. Partiendo de la tradición literaria, se acomete un análisis de imágenes cuyo repertorio abarca desde los ejemplos más tempranos en la Antigüedad hasta los más actuales en el siglo XX. Complementando dicho análisis, se consignan los significados aportados por la mitografía moderna, interpretados tanto en clave alegórica, como astrológica, o evemerista. Se identifican, además, los prototipos que sirven como modelo y que inspiran el desarrollo iconográfico de dicho tema, observándose desde un punto de vista evolutivo el estudio de las imágenes.

This project carries out an iconographic study of the mythological figure of Icarus, focusing on the moment of his fall. Starting from the literary tradition, it is carried out an analysis of different images whose repertory encompasses from the very first examples in the ancient times to the latest ones in the 20th century. Complementing the analysis mentioned above, the provided meaning by the modern mythography is provided, interpreting in the allegoric, astrologic and evemerist keys. They are identified, furthermore, the prototypes used as a model and which inspire the iconographic development of the topic, observing the analysis of the images from an evolutive perspective.
