Linares: Desarrollo industrial y evolución urbana

Abstract

[ES]Este trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer el desarrollo de Linares, observando la evolución urbana y los cambios económicos. Se basa en la influencia de la actividad industrial sobre la ciudad, diferenciándose dos importantes periodos que otorgarán un arraigado carácter a la misma. Por un lado, la minería se convertirá durante los siglos XVIII y XIX en el motor de desarrollo económico, urbano y social. Sin embargo se producirá un declive a causa de factores tanto endógenos como exógenos. Por otro lado, ya en el siglo XX, la aparición del sector de la automoción, con Santana a la cabeza, condicionará la ciudad hasta nuestros días. El siglo XXI supone el fin de Santana. De nuevo, la industria decae, convirtiéndose el sector servicios en el más relevante. Así, se hace latente la necesidad de diversificación de la economía linarense, pero la actual crisis económica paralizará los proyectos destinados a ello.

[EN]The aim of project is to know the development of Linares, observing the urban and economic evolution. The project is based on the influence of the industrial activity about the town, explaining the differences between two important periods which will give Linares this deep industrial nature. On the one hand, the mining will become during the XVIII and XIX centuries the engine of the economical, urban and social development of the city. Nevertheless, this industry will suffer its deterioration due to internal and external factors. On the other hand, in the XX century,the appearance of the automotive sector, led by Santana, will influence the city until the present. The XXI century means the end of Santana. So the industry again suffers decadence and the service sector becomes the most important for the economy of Linares, but the current economic crisis will stop the new projects to diversify this activity.
