A CLIL learning situation for the development of intercultural competence

Abstract

(ES) Esta Tesis de Máster se centra en la "C de Cultura", el último bloque del marco de las 4C desarrollado por Coyle (2007) como base conceptual para el enfoque AICLE. Desde esta metodología de enseñanza, se diseña una propuesta didáctica para desarrollar la competencia intercultural del alumnado de 3o ciclo de Educación Primaria, contribuyendo así a formar aprendices competentes en el uso de la segunda lengua. Esta propuesta responde a dos de las demandas educativas actuales: favorecer el ajuste y la adaptación óptima de los estudiantes a la sociedad en la que viven y promover un aprendizaje significativo y contextualizado, en este caso, el aprendizaje de la lengua inglesa (que es a la vez medio de enseñanza y materia del currículo). Para desarrollar esta propuesta, investigaremos los fundamentos de la metodología AICLE, la llamada "Escuela Intercultural" y su papel en el currículo y la relación entre interculturalidad y la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras, entre otros aspectos.

(EN) This Master Thesis focuses on the 'C of Culture', the last building block of the 4C's framework developed by Coyle (2007) as a conceptual base for CLIL approach. Using this teaching methodology, a didactic proposal is designed to develop the intercultural competence of students in the 3rd cycle of Primary Education, an thus contributing to build competent learners in the use of the second language. This proposal mainly responds to two current educational demands: to favour the adjustment and optimal adaptation of students to the society in which they live and to promote meaningful and contextualised learning; in this case, the learning of the English language (which is both the means of instruction and a subject of the curriculum). In order to develop this proposal, we will investigate the foundations of CLIL methodology, the so-called "Intercultural School" and its role in the curriculum and the relationship between interculturalism and FLT, among other aspects.
