El consumo de drogas es un problema social que requiere de la intervención de diversas disciplinas,
incluyendo el trabajo social, ya que tiene un papel fundamental en la intervención con personas
drogodependientes y con su entorno social-familiar. El trabajo social tiene como objetivo principal prevenir
y tratar la drogodependencia, así como mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas afectadas por esta
problemática y sus familias. Los trabajadores sociales pueden realizar acciones de valoración, intervención
y seguimiento en el ámbito individual, familiar y comunitario, colaborando con otros profesionales y
entidades. La prevención y el tratamiento de las drogodependencias son un reto importante para el trabajo
social, ya que implica abordar aspectos individuales, familiares y sociales complejos
