[EN] There is a global loss of wetlands due to anthropogenic and natural threats (agriculture, tourism, drought, erosion, etc.). In Spain, this situation is aggravated in Andalucía. This study examines Reserva Natural Laguna Honda in Jaén, focusing on its ecosystem services and biodiversity. The study aims to evaluate economically different policy measures for the wetland. A survey of 296 residents in Jaén assessed their knowledge, perceptions, and preferences about the conservation of local wetlands. Results indicate that participants have a positive relationship with nature and are aware of local wetland impacts, though Laguna Honda and its condition are not well known. Nevertheless, residents are willing to pay for improving the water quality and increasing knowledge about this wetland. Conclusions highlight the need to improve understanding of local wetlands and their services, specifically on Laguna Honda, and the implementation of new management and conservation strategies considering societal preferences.
