Web of Science (WOS), PubMed y Dialnet.
(EN)Depression is prevalent in older adults, and identifying risk factors allows for the implementation of diagnostic and intervention strategies. This study conducted a systematic literature review to analyze available research on depression and its influence on the quality of life in older adults. The PRIMA methodology was employed, using keywords such as "depression," "older adult," and "risk factor." Data sources included Web of Science (WoS), PubMed, and Dialnet. A descriptive analysis of findings from selected studies was performed. The initial search yielded 2,700 articles, but only 14 met the inclusion criteria. Results indicated that older adults exposed to low social support, physical inactivity, economic dependency, and female gender have a higher risk of depression. Resilience was negatively associated with mental health disorders and positively linked to quality of life.
