Participación comunitaria y tejido social en el Polígono del Valle (Jaén)”.

Abstract

El presente trabajo parte de una concepción del Trabajo Social Comunitario según la cual, éste es un dispositivo clave para dinamizar la participación social e impulsar el desarrollo del tejido asociativo como elementos fundamentales para favorecer la inclusión de las personas en su entorno. Partiendo por tanto, de un enfoque inclusivo, asociativo y participativo, en una primera parte del trabajo analizamos diferentes conceptos básicos sobre participación social e intervención comunitaria. Posteriormente se presenta por un lado, una breve revisión sobre la historia reciente del asociacionismo en España y en concreto del movimiento vecinal y por otro, se destaca la importancia de la intervención profesional del trabajo social comunitario en los contextos de vulnerabilidad. En la última parte del trabajo se describe un caso concreto de un barrio de la ciudad de Jaén (el Polígono del Valle) caracterizado por el arraigo del movimientos vecinal y en el que se han llevado a cabo diferentes experiencias de participación comunitaria que muestran la importancia de contar con un tejido social sólido y con la implicación de los propios afectados para conseguir mejoras en las necesidades sentidas por una comunidad.

This work is based on a Community Social Work conception according to which this is a key device to boost social participation and promote the development of the associative fabric as fundamental elements to favor the inclusion of people in their environment. Therefore, from an inclusive, associative and participative approach, in the first part of the work different basic concepts about social participation and community intervention are analyzed. Subsequently, on the one hand, a brief review of the recent history of associations in Spain and specifically of the neighborhood movement is presented. On the other hand, the importance of the professional intervention of community social work in vulnerable contexts is highlighted. The last part of the work describes a specific case of a neighborhood in the city of Jaén (Polígono del Valle) as a community-based movement’s neighborhood. There, several experiences of social participation have been carried out that show the importance to have a solid social fabric and with the involvement of those affected to achieve improvements in people welfare and needs.
