This Final Degree Project is a literature review on "The role of the Social Worker in the new addictions", the new addictions of the 21st century, are a social phenomenon that appeared at the end of the 20th century, and that indirectly or directly affects all communities and the different social agents. These new addictions, although they are called 'non-substance addictions', are just as dangerous as addictions with toxic substances. With this work I intend to know and investigate more about their stages, consequences, characteristics, the types of non-substance addictions that exist and the phases for their treatment. In addition, I want to observe how the pandemic we have gone through has affected the consumption of these new addictions. Therefore, the main objective of the paper is to examine the physical, social and cognitive effect of the new addictions of the 21st century from a social work point of view
