Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a growing problem today due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the highly stressful life situations caused by it. Currently, PTSD is one of the Disorders related to trauma and stress factors. The strict definition of trauma that appears in the DSM-5 manual cannot be applied to the current pandemic situation. However, various authors defend that one should speak of PTSD in this pandemic situation because it shares many characteristics similar to situations considered traumatic according to the DSM-5. In the present work, a bibliographic review is carried out from the conceptualization of the disease by COVID-19 and PTSD to prevalence, modulating factors, etiological models, evaluation instruments and treatment of PTSD.
