[EN] In this research, a study of water quality was carried out at five sampling points in certain wetlands in the Subbética region. For this purpose, indices based on a component of the phytobenthic community, such as diatoms, have been used. Sixty-three different species were identified in the samples, which were used to make indices and qualify the water quality, specifically the Poulosensitivity Index (IPS). In the data obtained from this index, there were several results that attracted attention, because they were areas in which a higher quality was expected in these aquatic masses, but on comparing them with the data we had from measuring the physical-chemical parameters, we saw that these values made sense, because they were points where there was a lack of nutrients. Of these five sampling points, one of them, Fuente de la Alberca Robles, had excellent water quality, while the sampling point Las Chorreras had the lowest quality index.
