In this project, the design of a safety structure for the protection of the occupants of a vehicle during the participation in a competition is presented. Safety is enhanced, improving what is related to the economy and optimizing resources in terms of the material used. For this mentioned object, a passive safety system is dimensioned which will be placed inside the vehicle. This implies the realization of the design and calculation of the structure according to the regulations used for this type of elements, in Annex J of the FIA. A series of static simulations will be carried out, using the finite element method, to verify that the structure complies with said regulations. Subsequently, performing a topological optimization to reduce its weight as much as possible. Said calculation using finite elements will be contrasted with the simplified analytical calculation.
