[EN] 21th century companies follow a methodology that has changed in the last few years. They are concerned about the increase of the competitiveness between enterprises. Derived from the Toyota’s production system we can find the technique called Lean Manufacturing, a work philosophy consisting in a constant improvement, focused in the efficiency, the waste control that does not generate customer value and involving everyone in a company. In order to optimize business, it is based on a number of tools to help to control the process, among which are Just in Time, and 5'S. Many industries and services have adopted this technique. A selective analysis of newspaper’s articles has been done comparing their implementation by type of industry, company size or market reach. The main objective is to identify the components of this method and its successful applications.
