"The aim of the present study was to analyze the effect of an intraperitoneal injection of ketamine on consummatory successive negative contrast. For this, a sample of rats was divided on 3 groups. Two groups were exposed to a 32% sucrose solution which later was devalued to 4%; one of them was injected later with ketamine (32-4/K) while another was injected with a vehicle (32-4/VEH). The third group was exposed to a 4% sucrose solution which was constant during the study and later was injected with ketamine (4-4/K). On session 11, 32% solution was devalued to 4%. Thirty minutes before sessions 11 and 12 the corresponding substances were injected. The results obtained shown that the reward devaluation caused a contrast effect, which was aggravated by the ketamine injection."
